Yesterday
I read the two articles: “Home Run”, which is written by Roy Ahn, and “Eating
White” wrote by Nicholson. After reading these two articles, I found some
special intimate relationship between them. First, both of these two articles
are using the first person perspective to write a topic with food. Second,
these two authors write their experiences about according to their countries’ cultures
and families’ effects. To be more specific, such as the article “Home Run”, the
author has episodic memory with his mother. Because his mother is a Korean and
always cooked the Korean food for the author, he is accustomed to eating Korean
food even though he never lived in Korea. After his mother past away, the
author thinks both his mother and the Korean food are keep away from his opinion because
he is not good at cooking Korean food. Eventually,
he found both his wife and child are in fond of Korean food very much;
therefore, he decided to cook the Korean food for them. I believe one thing more
significant is that although his family is not living in Korea, he still would
like to replace his mom’s position and make the culture spread to others.
As
for me, both I and my parent are from Beijing of china, my mom is very good at
cooking Chinese food. In my opinion, the most delicious food is made by my mom.
I am not sure that is because I am living and studying in American, but I am
sure all most American food is very terrible for me.
